Watching birds as they watch us
Installed another hard-drive into Mike's computer today and am sitting here waiting for the basic formatting to get done. We attempted to do this at Thanksgiving, but gave up when I opened his system and noticed that it had the newer style of drive system. As it turns out, if we had slowed down, and reviewed the system better, I would have noticed that his system board still supported the older technology and he would have been set. Oh well, it just goes to show you, never rush at anything.
While waiting I watched a bunch of birds coming and going on the power lines. Looked to be about 30 of them, and what they where doing was eating something just off the road. They would fly down and eat, but when a vehicle came by they all took off and headed to high ground. What was interesting was by the time 20 or so landed on the highline that line would really start to swing and sway. It just shows the power of a group. Get enough of anything together at one time, and you great a lot of power. IN this case it was the weight of many small birds.
Our next adventure was to go up to a store that caters to Hobby people. At least that is what the pretence is. I have been to these stores more then one of these stores, and it still amazes me how much junk can be hammered together and then sold as a household/hobby item. I have yet to see anything made in America except for candy, so that says a lot. I also want to know who in Iowa would purchase a 4 foot statue that look like it represents am African skinny women that is pregnant. I mean what does that go with as a decorating item.
This type of store along with all those $1.00 stores is going to fill every landfill in AMERICA.
