Barely clothed PETA protester draws crowd
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A woman sat on a downtown sidewalk in her underwear during the lunch hour Friday, braving the freezing cold to protest killing animals for their meat.
Passers-by on State Street, a bustling pedestrian mall that runs between the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the state Capitol, stopped to gawk as People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals volunteer Michelle Cho dropped her robe to reveal pasties and a pair of black bikini bottoms.
Her skin was marked with a butcher's description of meat. Her back, for example, was divided into "chuck," "rib," and "loin." The point was to show that animals can suffer the same as humans, said PETA campaign director Chris Link.
Cho sat on the sidewalk for about 10 minutes in a 21-degree wind chill, holding a sign that read "Have a heart. Go vegetarian." Men in the crowd snapped pictures of her with their cell phone cameras.
"It is cold," said Cho, 24. "But as uncomfortable as it is, animals are suffering far more on factory farms."
Cho said she quit her job at a Los Angeles appraisal company in November to become a full-time PETA activist.
"Something was missing from my life," she said. "It was my moral obligation to speak up for the animals. It's much more fulfilling."
Cho's stop was part of a seven-city Midwestern tour.
She disrobed in Minneapolis Wednesday outside the Minnesota Pork Congress and was arrested for indecent conduct. She made bail that night. She stopped Thursday in Duluth, Minn., where police ordered her to put her clothes back on.
Police in Madison didn't stop her.
Next up for Cho are stops in Bloomington, Ill.; St. Louis; Topeka, Kan.; and Des Moines, Iowa, Link said.
The above article was supplied from the Associated Press. It deals with the PETA group and how they react to things.
As you can tell this girl does not have all her eggs in one basket. I state this because it is January in Wisconsin. I mean who noticed her first, “the guy with a fishing pole and bucket as he is heading out for a little ICE Fishing”.
I read this and thought back to when a few of their faithful "PETA" started an attack on us for running our egg layer operations. They sent nasty letters, magazines and such, claiming we were the evil-doers of the factory farm system. They felt we where forcing the birds to overextend their normal body functions and push these animals until the collapsed and died. Profit before animal rights was there charge.
What these people with limited capacity don't understand is that the BAD managers in these field are weeded out real quick. It is called profit margin and if you didn't watch the environment, by controlling heat, cold, food, water, then the animal would be under stress and thus not happy.
What these people lack was a basic understanding of the animal and what it needs. They feel that all animal should be free to roam. I guess the never took down a dictionary and looked up the word “predator”
Enough of my rant on this, but I do want to leave you with this picture.
Close your eyes and picture her sitting on the sidewalk of Madison Wisconsin in her black bikini bottoms right next to a parking meter. Its 20 degrees out and no-one really is paying attention to her. Because she is now bored she looks at the parking meter pipe climbing up out of the snow, so she sticks out her tongue, leans forward and licks the post.
