Can you ever out-sleep a dog

Today was a slow day in the moving world. It’s a gloomy day with rain, cold and high winds. So I decided that if the weather was going to be nasty, I was going to enjoy my time off.

My agenda was simple in that I made sure Ruth got off to her trip of sister bonding. Three of them are flying off to Florida and spend a week together. They should really have the stories to tell when they get back. There is talk they are going out to the everglades for a day run. Ruth will not get into anything that is small and floats. This makes me think she may not see any gators.

After she left, I went up town to fill the truck, have lunch and then gets some meds. As I sat at the old fast food chapel and read the paper, I scanned the faces and didn’t see one that looked familiar. I guess after 16 years they all changed in looks and I just didn’t recognize them.

When I finally got back to the house, I turned on the TV as it was still cold and but my feet up. Soon I heard the snoring of the dog, and I figured that race was on. All afternoon we raced on, both us to out-do the other in sleeping. I will let you in on a secret; never place a bet on this kind of race as it was tough. Every time I woke up and took a peek at him, he was sleeping at my feet. I am sure he looked at me a few times, so I am calling the afternoon race a draw.

Weather should be better tomorrow, so maybe then I will look at unloading a box or two.

Later and enjoy
