The Kids are back.
After 3 days the kids are back, but they are scared. The kids of course are the Koi fish that I purchased and once released into the pond, they swam away never to be seen again. But as of this morning I noticed that we had a chunk of plastic hanging into the water. When I raised it up, the kids took off like a rocket. they seem to like their privacy, so I placed the plastic back until we can build them a hiding place.
Anyway my thoughts for today is about traffic tax and how everyone is “seeing red” about cities placing motion cameras at traffic corners. Personally I think its a great because it's a cool tax on someone who thinks they can blast through an intersection just so they can sit at the next red light. The cost is minimal considering you don't have to have an officer there and his/her judgment may be faulty. He/she could have been chomping on a donut when the red light offender rolled through. A camera never takes time off and never lies. Besides the offender would also get a nice 3x5 wallet size picture to remember each time they get caught.
The other nice thing about this method, is the cities could mount fake cameras at other locations just like they do with dummies in police cars. These cameras wouldn't cost much but the simple fact that you are not sure would cause the offenders to stop look and then speed off..
My last comment is that in Iowa at least, the ticket would not be a moving violation against your driving record. Isn't that ironic? You would have to be moving to get the ticket, but you will not be charged that your moving. I guess that is how laws are written and lawyers keep their jobs.
