Watching your money just swim away
Well I don't hurt nearly as much but looking at rocks is a lot more fun then moving them. The pond is pretty much back in order with only a 2ft water fall to rebuild. Both Mike and I would like to have it done, but just the thought of moving another rock makes my back hurt.
Anyway the pond tour is on, as we received the papers and I think we are listed as #6 on the tour. The committee has taken the time to line up about 10 places that have ponds/gardens. All the places have agreed to allow people to come and walk around and ask questions. Along with that they can take pictures of things that they like. We have a few other things to clean up and then we can sit back.
We also have the Playhouse pretty much back together. If you remember, we had to lift the roof off and lower it to the 1st level. The other day we lifted it back up to its original height and bolted it down. For the last few days, the trim along with the slide and the steps were bolted back on. Before long we should only have to wash it down a little and paint a few spots.
Back to the tour. It will be held on the 22nd of July starting at 9am. Believe it or not, tickets are $10.00 each and they claim we will be busy up till 4pm. I am still scratching my head that there would be that many people who would pay that kind of money to see a hole in the ground. I think it is because there is water surrounding something, and they think they will find a casino sitting there and they can gamble for a bit. I have been to the North Iowa casino and trust me. We have more water surrounding our little island, then they have around their water wheel.
Anyway my title today is based on the fact that I purchased 3 KOI fish today. Just like children and grandchildren that you would take to the pond they disappeared . I let them get use to the water, and then opened the bag. From that point on, I have not seen them. All I can do on tour day is tell the people that they have to trust me. The fish are there somewhere.
