More things to do in Iowa!

 As I stated before, people who think there is nothing to do in Iowa are really missing the boat.   I have been forced to demonstrate this to one and all that I can find things to keep me busy, and if not at home I can always go to big events being held around the country side.  Can you all remember the big Tractor ride/drive that was just held here.  I mean I didn't think that could be topped, but I had forgotten about an annual event that has been going on  for years and years.

This event must be great or they wouldn't hold it over and over. If you wish to see what I mean, then click here. Of course you may find it so interesting that you may just jump in the car and spend the day.

As for us, we have still been busy working on cleaning up things. Today we finished cleaning up behind the pole barn and mowed the same area.  I was told that it was all cleaned up, but on the second pass with the mower, I collected up wire that use to be a snow fence. It wound up so tight around the blades that I had to get the tractor out and lift the whole mower deck into the air so I could cut away all the wire.   

I have also spent time cleaning up the pond some more. This appears to be a never ending job, but I think I am getting ahead of the muck that has already accumulated at the bottom. Once a day I take the pool skimmer and sweep around the pond. This gets the muck off the bottom and then it all goes to the filter system. We are going to take that apart tomorrow to see how dirty it has gotten and see if it needs a good cleaning.
