I just couldn't pass this up!

Today in the paper there was an letter to the editor and this person was complaining about the Iowa Traction trolley darting out into 19th street traffic. Keep in mind that the "trolley" is the only working electric powered train that is still in service.

This railroad has 2 engines and according to other news articles they were built around WW1. They are small train engine mules and I love to see them working. In fact just a few weeks back, I crossed over their tracks and was speeding up (going down 19th street) when they blew their horns. Mike and I both about jumped out of the truck as you just don't hear them often. They do their work silently with the only sound of rolling steel wheels and an occasional horn blast.

But to say that these units JUMPED OUT IN FRONT is nothing more then that person was talking on their cell phone and not watching out for traffic. These units are painted pumpkin orange and if you can't see that or a normal railroad car moving, then I think you should pull over to the side of the road and take the bus.

This just made my day.

PS: I think Martians are harvesting all the corn in IOWA. More on why tomorrow
