Moving on south
It's me again:
I published yesterdays blog today as I could not get a decent Internet connection. So if nothing makes sense that is why.
Most people had left by the time we got up today or as I like to tease Ruth. The day started out normal. Regis and Kelly was on tv before we started to move around.
Anyway we had chased another camper across part of Kansas, and just before we stopped, we caught them again. Funny how when you stop for fuel and a quick lunch, you will notice the same vehicles over and over. Everyone on their own mission, but everyone going the same way. Anyway I was behind them when we both decided to pull off the freeway and park for the night. Found out they were from the MPLS area and retired from farming. He claimed he had the perfect location on the Wisconsin side of the river and when the price was right he sold. Now he travels and enjoys life.
Like I stated, they left long before we did, but when we stopped at a Texas wayside, there they were again. We all chuckled and compared more noted, and then they are on their way. Because they were heading more south that was the last we saw of them.
Took some cool pictures and we hope they turn out. Don't expect much as Ruth took them as we bounced down the road. You may see something, but she thinks she took the roof and the sky for the most part.
We stopped for lunch at Amarillo Texas and had a steak. I had seen this place on the Food Network and they are famous for a 72 ounce steak. If you eat it along with all the required side dishes your steak was free. Needless to say we did not order the steak. It was a cool place, and as soon as I find a cable to transfer the pictures I will post a few. We need to find a Walmart soon.(grin)
By the way Sandy. We did stop at a Walmart where Sam Walton was born. It was a smaller community, so the Walmart was a older/smaller style. No need for a SUPER wally-world in that town. They has no food items so we had to go to the food store next to it. Ruth noticed that they talk funny there.
Anyway we are located at Tucumcari, Arizona for the night. Its currently 60+ and we have cattle and horses out back. Kinda cool place to be so we made make it a stop for a few days. We even have cable hookup. All for $23.00 a night.
