We are on the way

Hi all:

As Edie had mentioned we are out and about and heading south. We left this morning at 9:30am and right now we are sitting at a camp ground in Lawrence Kansas. It's about 50 degrees and I was sitting out at a picnic table enjoying the mud. Yep, We left the white winter-land of Iowa so we could park the camper in the mud.

I guess it had warmed so fast around here, that all the snow that was around just up and left. We will not even unhook today as I think we may just sink out of site. It's a KOA camp and they are open all year around. I looked at how they do things around here to keep things from freezing and it did make sense. It made even more sense when I reviewed their camping instructions and noticed that everyone had to unhook from the water when it was close to freezing. This allowed the water to drain back down into a insulated pit.

We left this morning using my latest toy. I had purchased a GPS system to track/map our way. Two things we found out about it. When it wants to take a certain route, it will badger you for 20 miles until it gives up and remaps a route we wanted to go.

It also doesn't do a bit of good either when you miss the one ramp you wanted to take. It gets upset and starts to badger us again. Anyway we made it without any other issues.

Also found a interesting smell in the camper when we finally opened it up. Ruth smelled it when she loaded some stuff in it, but couldn't locate it. Claimed it was a dead mouse or something. What she actually found was a potato we think. It might have been a mouse, but it would have been a big one. It was bagged and tossed what ever it was.

Later.
