We made it to Arizona finally

The above picture was taken at Gallop New Mexico. BY morning therewas about 10 more campers sitting, waiting out the storm.

Well we made it to our campground which is just outside of Mesa. We were undecided if we would leave out last place, but when we woke up to all that snow, the decision was to get out of dodge.

After driving for another 6 hours, we pulled into a nice KOA. After a quick registration, a guy on a cart took us right to our spot. The only issue was when his hand signals for backing were different. I wasn't sure if he was attempting to help me back up, or if he was having a heart-attack at times. We finally got it parked and started to set up. Of course we now have to make plans on having the camper fixed in the next few days.

You see we fought a 40+ headwind all day yesterday. With my truck pointed into the wind and at times climbing into the foothill, it took its toll. The front skin is off again by the hitch and that has to be screwed back into place. Also it appears that the lift system in the front is damaged and we need to get someone with the right tolls to look at that. I'm not sure I can get back under it right now, so we may be stuck until we can get it fixed.

We also ran into one heck of a mountain snow storm yesterday. We stopped for fuel andnoticed that it was a lot colder. After refueling, we started west again and about 30 minutes from our stop we noticed that the clouds really looked low and blue. The next thing we knew, we were in a blizzard that came from nowhere. We slowed way done, along with everyother fool and finally made it to Gallup, NM.

They had lots of open spaces, so we took one and parked. We parked, locked everything up, and crawled into the camper. I guess you could say we were rocked to sleep that night. It dipped into the 20s, snowed a little more and blew wind. Ruth had to take a blanket and a long pillow and shove it into places that never leaked air before. We both could feel the cold air blow past our heads all night long.
And we left Iowa to get away from that. I took a pic of what it looked like before it got dark.

Anyway I will right what took place to day, tomorrow. I'm tired of the drive.
