Ruth Gordon – Come on Down!!
Hi all, Its Friday and we are still in Las Vegas. All of us are have good days and then bad days at the casinos. Net is so far no-one is out big money yet.
We went to a game show yesterday on a whim. And as you can guess by the title today what the show was all about. Yes we all went to the “Price is Right” show. Ruth had ordered the tickets the day before and we lucked out in we got to sit right down in front. The only thing between us and the stage was a short row of tables. Net is we had great seats.
Everyone had a chance to get on stage. They started the show and went over some simple rules. I think it was the 3 elimination faze, when suddenly we heard the booming voice holler out that Ruth Gordon was to come on down. We all hooted and hollered as she took off to the location of the microphones for elimination at that level.
Well guess what, Ruth made the correct choice and off to the stage she headed. Now she was up there alone with the Bob Parker stand-in. She was asked the standard questions of where are you from and how long ya been married. A few other things happened, as they got ready, and then the did the famous, “ And behind door number 2” you are attempting to win a “New Refrigerator/Freezer”. I think at that time, I started to notice Ruth slip into the “Aunt Bea of Mayberry” mode.
Her challenge was the Alps mountain man gimic, and she had to guess the price of 3 items. I have to state she did a lot better then I would have, but needless to say, the mountain man went off the Alps mountain and she didn't win the fridge.
I found out later that her slip up may have been that she was worried how we would get it home if she won. Anyway she gets to keep the original gift she bid on, so if anyone is in need to a juicer, just let us know.
It will be at our house in 120 days or so.
I just wish I had taken my camera along.
