Things to think about on the 4th.

I realize that this will be read for the most part after the fact, but that is what happens when you purchase a paper on the 4th only to find that it was published the day before. Anyway thats enough of my troubles as I want to get onto the topic that triggers my rambling.

According to the USA YESTERDAY/TODAY paper, we/American's purchased stuff worth $288 billion from China over the last year. That is an impressive number when you factor in China was not a trading partner with anyone just a few years ago. They went from a closed country to owning the manufacturing side of a global economy.

Now I know people will state, they don't own manufacturing, but kid you not, they own it. They are building stuff so fast, they are internally worried that they can't keep up. Isn't that interesting that they worry they can't keep it going.

Now we have tires that fall apart going down the road, we have toothpaste that will leave you sick and with a bad taste in your mouth, and we imported fish products that even I don't understand all the issues. And this was done through 158 companies that are licensed to do business with China.

So when you enjoy the 4th of July and stand next to the guy who is looking for work. Think about this.

The Chinese developed fireworks and we all crowd around to watch them. Makes ya wonder if we are saluting America, or if we are just paying homage to China. Makes ya want to walk over and check where the American flag was made at now, don't ya.
