World hunger has been solved.
In the paper last week was an article about China having issues with water and mice. I guess it has been raining there a lot and the lowlands have flooded. Of course when you have lowland flooding, the wild animals start to move to high ground. Needless to say, mice are on the move in China. I have attached an short synopsis of what is going on.
2 Billion Chinese Mice Overrun Lake Area
People living in communities surrounding a large shallow lake have been overrun by field mice after floodwaters drove the rodents out of islands on the lake, state media reported Monday.
The mouse invasion began on June 23 when the Yangtze River flooded, raising the water level in central China's Dongting Lake and submerging mouse holes on lake islands, the official Xinhua News Agency said.
Now, an estimated 2 billion mice are ravaging crops in 22 counties around the lake, and authorities were rushing to construct walls and ditches to keep the rodents out. Residents have killed more than 2.3 million field mice _ or 90 tons of the rodents, Xinhua said.
End of synopsis
Ok , so why so many mice? I was raised that if I was slow at the table eating, that kids in China were starving and I should be glad to eat the food prepared and placed in front of me. Now I find out that they have all the food they could possible want and it is coming right at them. Think of it was meals on legs instead of meals on wheels like we have.
And think of the great toothpick that would come with each morsel. Instead of a hot-dog on a stick, they would be munching on a rat with a tail. 90 tons of rat is a lot to chew on, right? Makes you want to rush out and by that cheap hot-dog pack so you don't go hungry.
