Corn to the North is gone

I'm sitting here in the house and looking out at a empty field. It all started yesterday when a big Green Martian Machine moved in. I marveled at the size of this thing with it's bin extensions and dual wheels. It pulled to a stop just outside of the field and started to do it's morphing. It went from a road worthy machine to a corn chomping carnivore in less then 1 minute. Once it lowered the massive head, it shook its narrow behind and started a war on corn that would have made Patten happy if he was in charge.

What really fascinated me was the GMM would only make 1 round and then its sister ship would move in. As the mother ship moved forward on its journey, the sister ship would move alongside receiving the spoils of war. The mother ship would continue to ravage the field with so much speed that the filed was not long enough for them to complete their transfer. Both machines would come to the end and sit waiting for the end of transfer. Then they would both depart, moving quickly to resume their appointed mission. The mother ship consuming and the sister ship stock-piling.

I think Gramps would be saddened in seeing it happen so fast.
