Road trip today and he makes me laugh
Had to make a road trip today to Rochester MN for an appointment. I see Minnesotans are releasing their state purse strings a little as I-90 between Rochester and the windmill has new concrete on one side. They were blowing hay all over the shoulder today for grass control so thats a good sign it will soon be open.
As alway I was listening to talk radio and of course Rush Limbaugh. HE MAKES ME LAUGH!. He was doing his normal democratic bashing when he got on OBAMA about a statement he had made. I guess Obama made a comment that the only way we are going to get the economy going was from the people on the bottom and working up. I remember hearing him make that comment and chuckling then. Anyway Rush then made this comment-- " If that is the case - then Mexico should be a global economic power-house". I laughed so hard, I almost changed lanes on the freeway.
Anyway as I rolled across southern Minnesota, I admired how far the farmers are with harvesting. It was rainy and overcast, but you could still see some beauty in the trees and the land. The crops may be brown, but it is shades of brown. Along with that, you have roadside grasses getting their last bit of energy before they are covered with snow. Kinda cool and one reason I like the area.
The next thing I noticed was the number of windmill parts going both way. I witnessed steel towers going one way and power heads going the other. I chuckled at this because it would have been logical to seeing them go all in one direction. But the buildup is fast around here so the parts to assemble them are just crossing on the highways.
It is amazing to see how many have been built around here. It appears they have all the towers up on the east side of I-90 around the Dexter exchange to the east. I saw cranes on the west-side of I-90 and they sure had a lot of them started. Net is it's nice to see.
As for Iowa of course you have them on both sides of I-90 and they were all churning away. And when you come into Northwood from the north, you see windmills stretching out all the way to my little home town.
Again nice to see. Each one churning away and stopping the flow of money offshore.
